A More Daring Approach

When I think of my own personal style I tend to think of a more polished/dressy/girly look. I have been called "girly" on more then one occasion, I own more skirts and dresses then I do pants, and a "throw it on outfit" is always leggings, skirt, and boots. Although I like to think that my 16 year old self will always be in me, with her ripped jeans and converse, there is no dying that as I get older my style tends to lean a toward the more feminine looks. Which is why I was surprised when I had a dream about electric blue eye shadow/eyeliner the other night.  

Normally something like that is not really my style, I tend to go with more neutral or smokey eye shadows. However, I loved the look of the blue eyeshadow in my dream. Whenever I think of blue eye shadow I think of feathered hair, the 80s and Mimi. So I am interested in figuring out a way to make it work.

Night:

Yes we all know that there are styles of makeup you wear during the day (usually lighter colors) and the night time makeup (when makeup gets just a little crazy). I feel like electric blue makeup is more of a night out type. However I did find this great video for a fun summer makeup. I don't know if I am daring enough to bring out that much blue during the day but I think it looks super fun for a girls night out.

Day:

I found the image above, and realized that was it. That is the electric blue that you can wear in day without getting those looks.
